Hi, and welcome to the latest edition of the Greece Travel Secrets newsletter, which comes out more or less weekly. This time a subject dear to everyone’s heart - Greek food!
This week we’ve been reading a new cookbook, The Ikaria Way, and have reviewed it on the website: https://www.greece-travel-secrets.com/The-Ikaria-Way.html
It’s a great read, much more than just a recipe book, and we’ve bookmarked several of the recipes to try. Our thoughts of Greek food were also encouraged this week by reading this piece about Cretan food by our friend Annabelle Thorpe in The Observer:
Cretan food is arguably the best in Greece
The author of the Ikaria Way, who is from the island, also conducts cookery classes there every year, and you can find more about them here (though many of this year’s have already sold out): Ikaria Longevity Cooking Classes & Retreat
This made us wonder what other cookery classes there might be around Greece. The answer is: hundreds! We’ve therefore done a bit of searching and have listed some of them below. It’s far from being a complete list, but if you want to make this year the year you learn to cook Greek, take a look at these. Click on the links to learn more.
